🤔 Open Source Strong & Weak Copyleft Licenses

Salute,

You and I previously looked at what free and proprietary software is here, and also looked at permissive licenses here.

Now I suggest you look at open-source types like Unlicense and Strong, Weak Copyleft Licenses. These types of licenses describe the type of free distribution with some special cases and have differences from each other.

What is Copyleft?

This is a freely distributed license, where the distributor can “share” the product both in its original state and after making changes to it. Similar to permissive licenses, copyleft retains an attribution notice.

Peculiarity

1. A strict license is a modification of code under the same license, where any program created on its basis must also be open source and distributed under a similar license.

2. A weak license retains the basic requirements of a strict one, but allows you to maintain a balance between protecting against code privatization and providing greater flexibility for combining code with other projects, including proprietary ones.

In the attachment I have provided the types of licenses and their features, you can reuse this for your open source projects under the specified conditions and restrictions that will help you upgrade.

Total: if the author wants to allow the use of his OIP without any restrictions from copyright law, then he must make a statement that he is transferring the OIP into the public domain by waiving his rights. In other cases, I told you all the types of licenses, where you can choose exactly how to create and develop a product.
